Lions Boksgala: €180.000 Raised with a digitale lottery
A digital lottery, boosted by boxer-donated prizes at the Lions boksgala, surpassed expectations for KNRM Noordwijk.
Saturday, November 12, the 8th edition of the Lions Boxing Gala took place at the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk. During this boxing gala, Lions Club de Brittenburg raised funds for a new boathouse for the KNRM. In addition to an auction, funds were also raised through a digital lottery. This lottery was fully set up and executed on the Lotify platform.
The Lions Boxing Gala
The Lions Boxing Gala is an event organized every one and a half years at the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk by Lions Club de Brittenburg, a club with members from Katwijk and Noordwijk. Every Lions Club works to help others and advocates for a good cause. Lions Club de Brittenburg intentionally focuses on local impact and supports local good causes. Over the 8 editions of the boxing gala, a total of €872,500 has been raised for various charitable causes.
The KNRM
During this 8th edition, funds were raised for KNRM Noordwijk aan Zee. The money will go toward the construction of a new boathouse for the KNRM. This funding is crucial as the old boathouse is outdated, and a new, future-proof boathouse needs to be built at the same location.
The Lottery
From the Lotify platform, the technology, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, digital lottery ticket issuance, and fair drawing were all well taken care of. The proceeds from the lottery exceeded all expectations! This was partly due to the addition of an extra element. During the lottery, KNRM was able to add prizes to the prize pool, and each boxer could also contribute individual prizes. This meant that when you bought a ticket for a specific boxer, you also had the chance to win extra prizes from that boxer's prize pool.
