Roparun’s Digital Triumph: From Paper Tickets to €648,397
Roparun is an annual event where hundreds of teams run a 500km relay. The ultimate goal? To raise as much money as possible to ease the lives of people with cancer and improve their quality of life. To support this cause, Roparun traditionally organizes a lottery. Each participating team is required to sell 1,000 tickets to contribute to this valuable cause. This year, Roparun hosted a digital lottery via Lotify and discovered the many advantages of the online gaming platform.

Switching from Paper to Digital Lottery
In previous years, participating teams had to pay for paper tickets upfront and pick them up in Schiedam before selling them. Thanks to the digitalization via the Lotify platform, these steps are now a thing of the past. Everything is automated, from easy payments via iDeal to the digital distribution of ticket numbers to buyers via email. This saved the teams and the organization both time and effort, in terms of cash flow and administration.

Strong Support from the Community
The Teamlink functionality is a feature of our lottery platform. Each registered team received a unique generated Teamlink. With this Teamlink, teams could easily create unique sales links, which could then be shared within their own network. The platform automatically tracked which team the purchased ticket should be assigned to. Since teams no longer had to travel to Schiedam and the sales took place digitally, buying tickets became much more accessible. Thanks to the ease of use and high level of engagement, this resulted in a record number of tickets sold. The best-selling team sold a remarkable 7,500 tickets!

Expanding the Lottery
After the positive experience with digitalization, Roparun will expand the lottery next year with multiple draws. In addition to the main draw after the Roparun event, ticket buyers will also have the chance to win prizes during the Christmas and Easter periods. Early ticket buyers will participate in all three draws, making the lottery even more attractive.
